The January transfer market proves to be a time of significant rumour and potential major deals. Several notable stars find themselves connected to moves away from their current clubs. We examine some of the major figures who are poised to be on the move this month.

A. Semenyo

Despite Ghana's inability to qualify for the AFCON, which has kept the forward in contention, indications are an important transfer is imminent. This 25-year-old has a deal featuring a sizeable buy-out clause applicable for a brief period in early January. Latest developments suggest Manchester City are now the frontrunners for his services. Other suitors like Tottenham and Chelsea reportedly have moved on to other targets, potentially opening the door for teams like Manchester United or Liverpool to attempt a last-minute move.

Marc Guéhi

This English defender has excel for Crystal Palace despite a summer move to Anfield collapsing. With his contract set to run out in the summer, January is the London club's last chance to obtain a fee for their captain. A host of elite clubs, including City and several continental powerhouses like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Bayern Munich, are believed to be interested. Yet, a winter departure is considered unlikely, particularly given the manager's reliance on the player.

B. Johnson

The Welsh forward has found starting minutes limited at Spurs this term. Although finishing as the side's leading goalscorer the previous campaign, he has started only a handful of league matches. Reports suggest the North London outfit is open to a transfer for the correct valuation, believed to be in the region of £40 million. Additionally, there have been rumours from Spanish media that he is willing to take a pay cut for a switch to the Spanish giants.

Marc-André ter Stegen

The experienced Germany shot-stopper finds himself as the third option at Barça under the coach Flick. Having lost his place and undergone surgery, a January exit looks highly likely. Villa were once mentioned as a possible destination, but that move now appears off. Instead, clubs from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are reportedly showing interest in the 33-year-old.

Ivan Toney

This proven England centre-forward has kept finding the net frequently in Saudi Arabia. A return to the Premier League could boost his fading hopes of being in the national squad.
